Welding Role in Milton Keynes

We are currently looking for Welders with experience in MIG Welding, ideally on Steel but it is not essential.

The role is based in Milton Keynes at Wolverton Rail Depot (MK12 5NT) on a 6 Month Rolling contract, carrying out work on rail equipment or vehicles.

Details

• Pay rate: £28ph Umbrella (£20.84 PAYE) during codings, £30ph Umbrella (£22.33 PAYE) afterwards
• Hours: Up to 50 hours per week
• Working times: From 6am Monday to Friday, with shifts between 10 and 12 hours

Requirements

To be considered, you must hold a minimum of Level 2 or equivalent in welding. Those without Level 2 can be considered but will be paid a lower rate.

Weld Test Details

• Individuals will perform 8 types of MIG welds: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, and Overhead, with tests between 6 to 8mm.
• 2mm Fillet weld Vertical-up (PF) Position.
• 6mm Fillet weld Overhead (PD) Position.
• 6mm Fillet weld Vertical-up (PF) Position.
• 2mm Butt weld Overhead (PE) Position.
• 2mm Butt weld Vertical-up (PF) Position.
• 6mm Butt weld Overhead (PE) Position.
• 6mm Butt weld Vertical-up (PF) Position.
• 1.6mm Lap fillet weld.

The weld test will be conducted at the depot. If successful, you must also pass a Medical D&A test.
