Job summary

Holt Engineering in Farnborough is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment. You will weld aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel using MIG/TIG, fabricate complex parts from 1–6mm materials, and read detailed drawings to tight tolerances.

The role requires 4+ years of MIG/TIG welding and fabrication experience, strong attention to detail, and a team-focused approach in a structured manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' welding experience using both MIG and TIG.
• Strong experience welding thin-gauge aluminium, 1–6mm.
• 4+ years' fabrication experience with complex builds.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience with aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel.
• Confident use of grinders and hand/electric tools.
• Experience using inspection and measuring equipment.
• Good attention to detail and quality focus.
• Positive, flexible and team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• MIG and TIG welding of aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel.
• Fabricating complex parts and sub-assemblies using thin-gauge materials (1–6mm).
• Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Setting up and safely operating welding equipment and tools.
• Cutting, preparing, aligning and welding components to specification.
• Using hand tools and grinders to complete work.
• Carrying out dimensional checks with verniers and micrometers.
• Completing production documentation and ensuring quality standards.
• Maintaining organized work area and contributing to 7S/CI activities.
