Pertemps Warrington has an opening for a time-served Welder/Fabricator in St Helens (WA9). The role is permanent, full-time with Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:30 and Friday until 14:00. Salary is £34,817 per year.

You will weld using TIG and MIG across aluminium, copper, and steel, pass coded tests to 6G, and fabricate assemblies from engineering drawings. Candidates must read drawings, follow site safety rules, and assist colleagues. A full UK driving licence and GCSEs are required.

Qualifications

Job Title: Welder/Fabricator

A Welder/Fabricator position is available in St Helens (WA9) with Pertemps Warrington, offering £34,817 per annum. This permanent, full-time role involves shifts from Monday to Thursday, 08:00-16:30, and Friday early finishes at 14:00. The employer, a seasoned manufacturing and installation firm, seeks a time-served, fully skilled professional capable of TIG and MIG welding across aluminium, copper, and steel. Duties include passing coded weld tests up to 6G, fabricating assemblies to high standards from engineering drawings, and assisting colleagues. Housekeeping and hand tool use, including drills and grinders, form part of daily tasks. Prior experience in similar settings is essential.

Salary: £17.62 per hour

Our client a highly experienced manufacturing and installation company are recruiting for a time-served fully skilled Welder/Fabricator to joint their expanding team.

As a Welder/Fabricator your duties will be:

• Welding aluminium, copper, and steel in process TIG and MIG.
• Pass coded weld tests in all positions up to 6G.
• Fabricate and weld assemblies, to a high-quality standard in accordance with engineering technical drawings.
• Follow instruction from supervision.
• Assist other skilled tradesman with aspects of the works.
• Maintain upkeep of work area, workshop, and general housekeeping.
• The use of hand tools, such as hand drills, grinders, and power tools.
• Carry out general maintenance across the site.
• Make themselves aware of health and safety risks involved.
• Follow site rules and procedures.
• Following best practice guidelines and ensuring other adhere to them.
• Report to supervisor for workload, issues, and any risk events.
• Completing and assisting with paperwork, risk assessments.

The successful Welder/Fabricator will have the following skills:

• Must have full UK driving licence.
• Basic English and Maths qualifications (min. GCSE level 4 / grade C).
• Time served, fully skilled welder/fabricator.
• Able to read and work direct from engineering drawings.
• 5 years of welding and fabrication experience.
