Job summary

Interaction Engineering in Peterborough is actively seeking an Experienced Welder Fabricator to join their craft-focused team. The role demands a minimum of five years’ hands-on welding and fabrication experience with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.

You will read engineering drawings and tolerances to produce high‑quality components and assemblies. The successful candidate will operate MIG, TIG, and Stick welders, as well as plasma cutters, grinders, and saws.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience with MIG, TIG and Stick welding.
• Ability to read drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and metal fabrication tasks across steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Ensure welds and fabrications meet safety standards and quality control expectations.
• Operate and maintain welding machinery and fabrication tools including MIG, TIG, Stick, and plasma cutters.
• Inspect and test welded joints to ensure strength and durability requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues efficiently.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean workspace.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding and metal fabrication tasks across various materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications for precise fabrication
• Ensure welds and fabrications meet safety standards and quality control expectations
• Operate and maintain welding machinery and fabrication tools, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and plasma cutters

Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• High attention to detail with a commitment to producing top‑quality work
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and troubleshooting skills
• Certification in welding (preferred but not essential)
• Safety‑conscious with knowledge of welding/fabrication safety standards
