Job description

Welder/Fabricator
Shifts Monday to Friday 07:15 AM - 04:00 PM (early finish on Friday 3 PM)

Temp to Perm
Pay rate up to £14-£17 per hour
Mansfield - NG20

Do you have experience as a Welder & Fabricator?
Have you previously worked in the railway sector?
Do you have a passion for working within the railway industry?

Our client is looking for a skilled Welder Fabricator to join their team, working on a range of heavy-duty projects including railway wagons and nuclear containers.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with solid welding experience and a background in fabricating from scratch using mild steel and stainless steel.

Immediate starts available.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out MIG welding to a high standard on heavy gauge materials
  2. Read and interpret engineering drawings for fabrication
  3. Fabricate complex structures from scratch
  4. Work with both mild and stainless steel
  5. Maintain high standards of safety and quality in a fast-paced workshop environment

Requirements:
  1. Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator
  2. Strong skills in MIG welding and heavy fabrication
  3. Experience working on rail industry or nuclear-related projects is highly desirable
  4. Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
  5. Must be able to pass a Butt Weld and T-Fillet test at interview stage
  6. Ideally NVQ qualified, apprentice-trained, or hold a relevant welding/fabrication certification
