Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd is representing a well-established manufacturing business in Aylesbury, inviting an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their Welding team on a permanent PM shift. This role offers a competitive salary with a 15% shift premium.

You will perform TIG welding and fabrication from engineering drawings, while ensuring quality and safety. The job involves using the MRP system, maintaining welder qualification records and supporting continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of welding experience in manufacturing
• TIG welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Good problem-solving and organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Good computer literacy

Responsibilities

• TIG welding and fabrication from engineering drawings
• Reading engineering drawings (Third Angle Projection)
• Carrying out production work to required quality and specification
• Participating in quality control and identifying defective work
• Carrying out MPI and Dye Pen inspections where required
• Booking jobs and recording information using the MRP system
• Maintaining welder qualification records and documentation
• Working to health and safety procedures
• Maintaining 5S standards and housekeeping
• Supporting continuous improvement and waste reduction activities

Welder / Fabricator – PM Shift

Salary: £33,207 - £35,350 per annum DOE + 15% Shift Premium

Location: Aylesbury, HP19

Hours: Monday - Wednesday 1:30pm - 11:30pm, Thursday 1:30pm - 11:00pm

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Contek Recruitment are representing a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Aylesbury who are looking to recruit an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their Welding team on a permanent late shift.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced TIG Welder with a manufacturing background who is confident reading engineering drawings and working to high quality standards.

The Role

As a Welder / Fabricator, you will carry out fabrication and welding work as directed by the Welding Supervisor, working as part of an established production team.

The role will involve:

• TIG welding and fabrication within a manufacturing environment
• Working from engineering drawings, primarily Third Angle Projection
• Carrying out production work to the required quality and specification
• Participating in quality control and identifying any defective work
• Carrying out MPI and Dye Pen inspections where required
• Booking jobs and recording information using the company MRP system
• Maintaining welder qualification records and associated documentation
• Working to company health and safety procedures
• Maintaining good housekeeping and 5S standards
• Working efficiently to meet production requirements and deadlines
• Supporting continuous improvement and waste reduction activities

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Minimum 2 years' welding experience within a manufacturing environment
• TIG welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Good problem-solving and organisational skills
• Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Good computer literacy

Working Hours

The position operates on a permanent late shift:

• Monday - Wednesday: 1:30pm - 11:30pm
• Thursday: 1:30pm - 11:00pm
• 37.5 hours per week
• 15% shift premium
