Job summary

Reliant Installations Ltd in Skipton is seeking a Welder/Fabricator Apprentice to learn welding and fabrication skills under experienced engineers. You will cut steel with a band saw, prepare materials, blast surfaces, assemble metal products and work with a range of tools. The role includes full training with progression to a full-time role after the apprenticeship.

Working Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (hours negotiable with transport). Training provider: LumInate Education Group.

Qualifications

• GCSE English at grade C/4 or higher (desirable).
• GCSE Maths at grade C/4 or higher (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Welding and fabrication tasks under supervision.
• Use a band saw to cut steel and other materials to size.
• Prepare materials for fabrication by grinding and cleaning components.
• Operate sand blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces.
• Assist with assembly and manufacture of fabricated metal products.
• Safely use a range of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment, following health and safety procedures.
• Work with workshop team to complete projects to deadlines.
• Develop welding and fabrication skills through full training and support.

Reliant Installations Ltd are looking for a motivated and practical Welder/Fabricator Apprentice to join their team. This role will give you the opportunity to develop industry skills while working alongside experienced professionals.

What You'll Do

• Carry out welding and fabrication tasks under the supervision of experienced engineers
• Use a band saw to accurately cut steel and other materials to the required sizes
• Prepare materials for fabrication by grinding and cleaning components
• Operate sand blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding or finishing
• Assist with the assembly and manufacture of fabricated metal products
• Safely use a range of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment, following all health and safety procedures
• Work as part of the workshop team to complete projects to agreed deadlines
• Develop practical welding and fabrication skills throughout the apprenticeship with full training and support
