Job summary

SG Personnel are working with a large manufacturing company in Newcastle who are looking to recruit a team of welders on a temporary to permanent basis for the right candidate.

The role involves MIG welding on mild steel (3–10mm), with occasional basic machining, grinding, dressing and fettling. Shifts are 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights; days 7.30am-5.15pm and nights 9.30pm-7.15am. Rates: £15.18 per hour days or £20.19 per hour nights.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or time-served welder.
• MIG welding on mild steel 3–10mm.
• Experience with batch welding environments.

Responsibilities

Job description

SG Personnel are working with a large manufacturing company in Newcastle who are looking to recruit a team of welders to work on a temporary to permanent basis for the right candidate.

The work will involve basic JIG and fixture MIG welding on mild steel ranging from 3mm to 10mm in thickness. The job is predominantly batch work but may also be responsible for basic conventional machining, grinding, dressing and fettling.

Candidates must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or be a time served welder.

The shift pattern is 2 weeks of dayshift followed by 2 weeks of nightshift. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 7.30am-5.15pm on days. Monday to Thursday, 9.30pm-7.15am on nights.

This job is available either on a dayshift only basis (£15.18 per hour) or fortnightly rotating days and nights (£20.19 per hour for nightshift)
