Role Overview:
To provide for the safe timely delivery of all work tasks in line with British Sugar work requests and projects across Wissington site. Fabricate and fit metal components to assemble structural forms, such as frames, pipe supports, pipework, and pressure vessels. Technical details to be supplied by client.

What you'll do:

1. Ability to weld to high spec on sheet metal, tubing plate and structural steelwork
2. Installs or repairs to equipment such as pipes, old sheet, plate, valves and process equipment.
3. Welded fabrications to be built and welded to customers design and specification e.g. metal furniture, seating, balconies, stairways
4. Ability to fabricate tubing, frames, angle, box etc. from drawings
5. Comply with all site rules and site company standards.
6. Understand and comply with all hot work controls when undertaking hot work activities
7. PPE must be worn correctly and be in a presentable hygienic state.
8. Presentations of completed jobs to be of a high standard.
9. Always work in a safe professional manner.
10. Perform other such tasks as needed and as requested by Line Manager.

Person Specification

Who you'll be:

1. Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
2. Competent in the use of various welding processes, flame cutting, plasma cutting, angle grinding, polishing.
3. Qualified to EN287-1 for working on pressure systems
4. Must be able to work well within a team
5. During operational periods a call out system will be in place for quick response to meet process demands.
6. Shift working may be required from time to time during periods of high work
