Job summary

The Best Connection is looking for an experienced Welder to join our Farnborough production team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in aluminium and mild steel welding, fabrication, and working from complex technical drawings.

You will perform MIG and TIG welding, fabricate complex builds from drawings and welding symbols, and use micrometers and vernier gauges to ensure accuracy and quality.

Qualifications

• 4+ years welding and fabrication experience with aluminium and mild steel.
• Proficient in MIG and TIG welding.
• Able to read complex technical drawings and welding symbols.

Welder Required in Farnborough

Hours of work - Monday to Friday - 08:00am - 16:30pm

Rate of Pay - £18 - £20 per hour depending on experience

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Welder to join our clients production team in Farnborough The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aluminium and mild steel welding, fabrication, and working from complex technical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG and TIG welding on aluminium and mild steel components.
• Fabricate complex builds and assemblies using technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Work with multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) and follow engineering specifications.
• Use measuring and inspection equipment, including micrometers and vernier gauges, to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Operate workshop equipment and tools, including grinders and manual and electric tools.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Work effectively to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Support quality checks and contribute to resolving fabrication and welding issues.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of 4 year's welding and fabrication experience, particularly with aluminium gauge materials and mild steel.
• Proven proficiency in MIG and TIG welding processes.
• Experience fabricating complex builds and assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and welding symbols.
• Competent in using inspection and measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of non-destructive testing and quality inspection processes.
• Experience in the fabrication and welding of aviation components.
• Knowledge of quality tools and techniques, such as 8D, 5 Whys and Fishbone analysis.
• Experience contributing to engineering design reviews.
