Job summary

Luxfer MEL Technologies in Manchester is seeking an Extrusions Press Operator / Press Driver to support the weld rod extrusion area. This hands-on role requires following detailed process instructions, recording production information clearly, and delivering right‑first‑time results where accuracy matters.

You will operate extrusion press equipment, monitor process conditions, and work with Team Leaders and Quality to maintain safe, controlled, and reliable production.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment with strict procedures and quality checks.
• Direct experience operating an extrusion press is strongly preferred.
• Experience with heavy manufacturing equipment is advantageous.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions exactly and escalate when unclear.
• Safety-focused, reliable and team-oriented approach.
• Experience in AS9100, aerospace, defence or other high‑quality regulated manufacturing environments is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion press equipment safely and in line with procedures.
• Support weld rod extrusion production; ensure each step is completed as instructed.
• Monitor process conditions; carry out checks and raise concerns as needed.
• Complete production records, log sheets and handover information accurately.
