Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting a Security / Weighbridge Operator for a busy builder's merchant site in Wheatley, Oxfordshire. This temp-to-perm role offers Monday to Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm (1-hour lunch) with every other Saturday 8:00am–1:00pm, at a rate of £12.71 per hour.

You will manage goods in and out, weigh vehicles, perform routine checks, direct visitors, and maintain records while upholding site security and delivering strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in builder's merchant, construction, aggregates, or similar industrial environment.
• Experience in weighbridge, gatehouse, security, goods in/out, or traffic management.
• Confident communicating with customers, suppliers, and HGV drivers.
• Proactive, reliable and safety-conscious with good attention to detail.
• Knowledge of building materials or construction products.

Responsibilities

• Manage goods in and goods out operations.
• Check deliveries and complete paperwork accurately.
• Carry out customer vehicle checks and random spot checks.
• Operate weighbridge and weigh vehicles in and out.
• Direct visitors and drivers around site safely.
• Maintain records and follow security procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service in a busy environment.
