Job summary

The Hills Group is seeking a Weighbridge Operative to help run the quarry day‑to‑day, manage weighbridge operations and accurately process all vehicle movements using a computerised weighing system.

You will deliver excellent customer service, liaise with the Sales Office, process cash sales and maintain accurate records, while supporting transport coordination and regulatory compliance across Wiltshire and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and accurate processing of vehicle movements on the weighbridge.
• Ability to liaise with the Sales Office and communicate additional requirements and discrepancies.
• Maintain compliance with policies and ensure materials are supplied only to authorised customers.
• Process cash sales transactions accurately and professionally.
• Complete daily weighbridge administration and reconcile documentation.
• Support transport coordination and vehicle scheduling for timely deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for site operations and compliance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers, drivers and colleagues.
• Organised and detail oriented with good IT system skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service by processing vehicle movements accurately through the weighbridge system.
• Liaise with Sales Office to communicate customer requirements and amendments.
• Ensure access to materials only for authorised customers and maintain compliance.
• Handle cash sales transactions in line with procedures.
• Record tonnages and prepare information for the Sales Office daily.
• Assist with transport coordination and routing to ensure timely deliveries.
• Keep records and documentation up to date for regulatory compliance.
