Job summary

MTrec Ltd Technical in Gateshead is seeking a Welder/Fabricator for a permanent weekend shift (Fri, Sat, Sun 7:30am–4:45pm) after training. You will weld (TIG/MIG/SMAW) and fabricate to detailed drawings.

You’ll work to Welding Procedure Specifications, handle materials including aluminium, stainless steel, and alloys, and share knowledge with colleagues.

The role offers a competitive hourly rate (£29.48) plus weekend shift allowance and routes for development within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Be a time-served Welder/Fabricator with an NVQ Level 3 in welding and fabrication.
• Hold CSWIP 3.1 welding inspection certification (or recognised equivalent).
• Have proven experience in TIG, MIG and SMAW manual welding.
• Have proven fabrication experience to detailed engineering drawings.
• Be familiar with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs).
• Be familiar with a wide range of materials (non-ferrous, aluminium, stainless steel, Inconel, titanium).
• Be able to work in a team and train others.
• Willing to work overtime to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities
