Medivet Llandaff North are looking a Weekend Veterinary Surgeon to join our team.

Come and be part of an exciting new service for our clients. We are looking to offer longer weekend opening hours to support our clients and patient’s needs.

If you are an experienced Veterinary Surgeon that likes ECC this could be an ideal role for you.

We are offering flexible days, for example you could either work sole charge Saturday and Sunday (9am to 5pm) with an experienced Veterinary Nurse, at our Llandaff North practice or you could work a Saturday and a week day or a Sunday and a weekday.

The role will include consulting and carrying out procedures. We have good equipment and facilities at the clinic to be able to see and treat our patients, our PMS is linked so all histories are available. Our other clinics in the area will still be open on Saturdays for their usual consulting hours, we are aiming to offer an extended opening time at one branch. During the week the clinic is run by our Branch Partner who is passionate about client and patient care.

Llandaff North clinic is accessible by train from Cardiff city centre with the train station just behind the surgery and located close to junction 32 of the M4.

Cardiff is a vibrant city, offering great city life, cultural heritage and good transport connections close to the M4, Cardiff and Bristol airport and the central train station. Easy access to the beautiful Brecon Beacons for those who enjoy outdoor activities.

In This Role You Will

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to your patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional care to your clients, giving clear updates on patients.
  • Deliver professional excellence, observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans for each patient with clear cost estimates.
  • Engage, mentor and develop your team, enhancing their skills and utilising these in the most effective way.
  • Complete clinical handover and arrange transfer of any patient needing out of hours or enhanced care.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across practices and the wider Medivet community.

Your Skills And Experience

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
  • Able to demonstrate clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience of implementing a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience of supporting nurse consults and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
