Job summary

Gloucester City Council is seeking a friendly, reliable Shopmobility Assistant to help deliver an essential mobility service in Gloucester city centre. The role is part-time, working 7.5 hours every Saturday, with possible additional shifts to cover annual leave or sickness.

You will provide a welcoming, professional, and safe service, helping customers access and enjoy the city centre, train users on mobility scooters, and assist with equipment maintenance and day-to-day running of the service.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of customer service and welcoming environment.
• Take bookings and assist customers with mobility scooters.
• Maintain equipment in a safe condition and respond to breakdowns.
• Open/close premises and assist with security.
• Assist with day-to-day running including donations and saleable goods.
• Signpost vulnerable customers to other services.
• Work with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve the service and customer experience.
• Work flexibly and take responsibility for tasks.
• Undertake other duties as needed.
