Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking a caring Carer/Personal Assistant to support a 6-year-old girl with autism in the Brackla area, helping her access the community and enjoy activities. Hours: Saturday or Sunday, 2 hours per week, rate £14.50 per hour.

Applicants must have own transport, a full clean driving licence and an enhanced DBS check. Flexible hours, training provided, 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata and sick pay. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of autism and understanding behaviours that may challenge.
• Own transport with a full, clean driving licence.
• Enhanced DBS check required (costs covered).

Responsibilities

• Support and encourage activities of interest.
• Encourage trying new activities to boost confidence.
• Ensure safety during working period.
• Assist with personal care and toileting.
• Local to the Brackla area would be beneficial.
• Carry out any other reasonable requests.
