Job description

We are looking for a female Personal Assistant/Carer 4 or 5 days a week (to be decided) with the flexibility to work afternoons occasionally.

The young person you will be supporting is Autistic & a full-time wheelchair user and NJ fed, and requires support with aspects of personal care, medication preparation, and daily routines.

This role is about much more than providing practical care. We are looking for someone who will take the time to build a genuine relationship with her, understand her individual needs and communication style, and become a trusted and positive presence.

She would particularly love someone who can be a cheerleader for her, someone who is encouraging, kind and interested in the things she enjoys, while also being able to recognise when she needs calm, quiet, and reassurance.

The ideal person will have a motherly, nurturing nature and be mature, emotionally aware and confident supporting a young adult with Autism. Ideally, we are looking for someone aged 35+, although the most important thing is the right personality and approach.
