24-hour Weekend Contract includes enhanced weekend shift premium rate

About the Role

We are looking for reliable and motivated Weekend Machine Operatives to join our dry pet food manufacturing team at our Pencader site.

This is a hands‑on role working across key areas of production, including extrusion, mixing/grinding, and packing operations (Concetti/autoline equipment). You will play an important role in ensuring efficient production, maintaining high‑quality standards, and operating machinery safely.

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a rotating weekend shift pattern:

• One weekend – Night Shifts: Friday 10:00pm – Sunday 10:00am (2 × 12-hour shifts)
• Following weekend – Day Shifts: Saturday 10:00am – Sunday 10:00pm (2 × 12-hour shifts)

Shifts rotate weekly between days and nights

Contracted hours: 24 hours worked per week

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery including:
  • Extrusion systems
  • Mixing and grinding equipment
  • Packing lines (Concetti/autoline)
• Ensure product quality meets required standards
• Carry out basic machine checks and report faults
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to meet production targets

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred)
• Experience operating machinery (extrusion, packing, or mixing equipment desirable but not essential – full training provided)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable and flexible approach
