Job summary

United Petfood in Llangadog is seeking Weekend Machine Operatives for our wet pet food packing team. The role involves hands-on work across packing operations, operating Giotto/Autoline lines, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

The weekend shift pattern rotates between night and day shifts, with 24 hours per week contracted. Full training will be provided and there is an enhanced weekend rate. A passion for pets is a bonus.

• Previous warehouse or packing experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor packing machinery including packing lines (Giotto/ Autoline).
• Pack pet food products according to company standards.
• Label and prepare goods for dispatch.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety in the packing area.
• Work efficiently to meet daily targets.
• Report issues to supervisors promptly.
• Carry out basic machine checks and report faults.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times.
• Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet production targets.

About the Role

We are looking for reliable and motivated Weekend Machine Operatives to join our wet pet food manufacturing team at our Llangadog site.

This is a hands-on role working across key areas of the packing operations. You will play an important role in ensuring efficient packing, maintaining high-quality standards, and operating machinery safely.

Shift Pattern

This role operates on a rotating weekend shift pattern:

• One weekend – Night Shifts:
  Friday 10:00pm – Sunday 10:00am
  (2 × 12-hour shifts)

• Following weekend – Day Shifts:
  Saturday 10:00am – Sunday 10:00pm
  (2 × 12-hour shifts)

Shifts rotate weekly between days and nights

Contracted hours: 24 hours worked per week

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor packing machinery including:

  • Packing lines (Giotto/ Autoline)
• Packing pet food products according to company standards
• Labelling and preparing goods for dispatch
• Ensuring cleanliness and safety in the packing area
