Job Title: Weekend Lecturer in Business

Company: Regent College London

Salary: Up to £27,000 pro rata per annum, depending on skills and experience, for 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE). The full-time equivalent salary is up to £45,000 per annum for 1.0 FTE, and the part-time salary for 0.6 FTE is up to £27,000.

Reports to: Faculty Manager

Hours of work: 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE), including weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 9am-6pm), plus an additional day or 8 hours during the week for marking and other responsibilities.

Location: Flexible to work across Southall and Central London campuses.

Start Date: Interviews are ongoing. Suitable candidates may join on 11 August 2025 or 1 September 2025, subject to a successful interview.

Overall purpose

The Lecturer will design, develop, and deliver learning and teaching materials, either across modules or within a specific subject area. The role includes face-to-face and online teaching, ensuring student engagement, achievement, and a high-quality experience. The lecturer may support entire programs to aid students' learning journeys.

Specific duties and responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Teach scheduled sessions, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials.
• Maintain attendance records and collaborate with the attendance team.
• Deliver sessions aligned with program and module specifications.
• Utilize digital platforms such as VLEs and MS Teams.
• Develop teaching materials for modules.
• Engage students and suggest improvements for the academic experience.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop module content and structure.

Assessment and Marking

• Set assessments and ensure timely submission of over 90% of student assessments.
• Support assessment development and approval processes.
• Participate in moderation and standardization meetings.
• Provide formative and timely summative feedback.
• Identify academic misconduct and escalate as necessary.

Student Support

• Address student engagement and performance issues, referring to support services.
• Handle pastoral concerns and monitor student progress with support plans.

Quality Assurance

• Provide module evaluation reports and contribute to program evaluations.
• Participate in committee meetings and quality assurance activities.
• Reflect on student feedback to improve modules.
• Support accreditation and quality control processes.

Scholarship

• Engage in scholarship activities to support teaching and knowledge updating.
• Apply scholarship to teaching and external activities.
• Support the College's Scholarship Plan.

Managing People and Resources

• If assigned as module leader, coordinate with staff to meet student needs.
• Manage projects related to own work and external activities.
• Coordinate with others to ensure module delivery standards.
• Design and deliver modules and assessments considering best practices.
• Assist with student recruitment and marketing activities.
• Address quality issues within scope, escalating serious matters appropriately.
