Job summary

Epsom and St Helier Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Part-time supervisor to lead the cleaning service across community premises, ensuring a safe, high-quality service. You will motivate staff, coordinate workloads, and monitor standards in line with health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• COSHH knowledge and infection prevention/control training.
• BICSc / NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
• Good basic education with reading/writing and numeracy.
• Proven supervisory and team leadership experience.
• Experience in cleaning industry and managing sickness absence.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible day-to-day leadership and supervision to cleaning staff across designated areas.
• Allocate daily duties and ensure cleaning schedules meet timescales and standards.
• Monitor staffing levels and cover annual leave and sickness absence as needed.
• Inspect and audit cleanliness, recording actions taken and addressing issues.
• Ensure staff understand areas, duties, frequencies, risk categories and time allocations.
• Conduct staff briefings, toolbox talks and competency checks.
• Maintain records for schedules, audits, trainings and actions.
• Communicate with clinical teams and service users; ensure safe use of cleaning products.
• Monitor equipment condition and maintain it in safe working order.
