Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking a Weekend Cleaner to support our Mars site in Castle Cary. The role covers cleaning across manufacturing areas, following schedules and maintaining hygiene, safety and quality standards. Shifts are Saturday and Sunday 6:00am–2:00pm, part-time permanent; weekend rate £19.62 per hour (time-and-a-half on weekends).

The standard rate £13.08 is boosted for weekends. The successful candidate will work as part of the facilities team, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Reliable with a proactive approach to work.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled cleaning and housekeeping duties across the site.
• Safely use approved cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Complete cleaning schedules accurately.
• Remove and correctly segregate waste in line with site procedures.
• Keep cleaning cupboards clean, tidy and well stocked.
• Follow COSHH, health and safety and PPE requirements.
• Report any safety, quality, equipment or maintenance concerns promptly.

Job Title: Weekend Cleaner

Contract: Permanent – Part Time 15 hours per week
Working Pattern: Saturday & Sunday 6:00am to 2:00pm

Weekend Rate: £19.62 per hour

The standard hourly rate is £13.08, with a time-and-a-half weekend enhancement, bringing the weekend rate to £19.62 per hour.

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operative to join our team based at the Mars site in Castle Cary.

You’ll play an important part in keeping the site clean, safe and well maintained, carrying out a range of cleaning duties across manufacturing areas.

Working as part of the wider facilities team, you’ll follow agreed cleaning schedules and procedures while maintaining high standards of hygiene, health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled cleaning and housekeeping duties across the site
• Safely use approved cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Complete cleaning schedules accurately
