Job summary

Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a Weekend Cook to join the team at Cygnet Conifers. You will work 16 hours across Saturday and Sunday (8 hours per shift) from 8am to 4pm, supporting residents with nutritious meals in a 7-bed specialist home for adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.

You will prepare, cook and serve meals, liaise with nursing staff on dietary requirements, and ensure hygiene and safety in the kitchen. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• A skilled chef with care sector exposure.
• Basic food hygiene certification and good personal hygiene.
• Polite and professional with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook & serve meals for patients, staff & visitors.
• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet dietary needs.
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen, service areas & dining room.
• Supervise kitchen staff when deputising for the Head Chef.
• Maintain personal hygiene to comply with standards and regulations.
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment per procedures.
• Use chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
