Job summary

Join Sodexo as a Weekend Cook in Stoke-on-Trent and take ownership of preparing and serving nutritious, high-quality meals in an Approved Premises. Working independently, you'll play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

This part-time role runs Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 18:00, offering £12.91 per hour. You will contribute to delivering fresh meals, maintain high hygiene, and support residents as they progress towards reintegration into

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional cooking or catering role is essential.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• Able to work independently, manage your time and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and confident working alone.
• Positive and flexible, with the ability to work well with others and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff.
• Manage the kitchen independently and ensure meals are ready and served on time.
• Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and maintain high food hygiene standards.
• Check stock levels and order or replenish ingredients and supplies when needed.
• Work well with colleagues and communicate clearly to keep the service running smoothly.
• Follow all health, safety and food hygiene procedures, including when working alone.
