Sodexo is hiring a Cook in Blackburn to prepare and serve nutritious meals for residents and staff in an Approved Premises. You will work independently, manage the kitchen, and ensure meals are ready on time while maintaining high hygiene standards.

This role emphasizes independence, reliability, and strong communication as you contribute to a welcoming environment and support residents as they progress back into the community. Weekend shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional cooking or catering role is essential.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures.
• Able to work independently, manage your time and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and confident working alone.
• Positive and flexible, with the ability to work well with others and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and staff.
• Manage the kitchen independently and make sure meals are ready and served on time.
• Keep the kitchen and dining areas clean and maintain high food hygiene standards.
• Check stock levels and order or replenish ingredients and supplies when needed.
• Work well with colleagues and communicate clearly to keep the service running smoothly.
• Follow all health, safety and food hygiene procedures, including when working alone.

• 8:00am – 2:00pm
