Job summary

Sandstone Care Group is seeking a Weekend Catering Assistant for Priesty Fields Care Home. This role involves assisting with meal preparation and service for residents, ensuring dietary needs are met, and upholding strict hygiene standards.

Shifts run Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 16:30, with a 14-hour weekly commitment and an hourly rate of £12.76. Ideal candidates are reliable, team-oriented, and eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering/kitchen or hospitality is desirable but not required.
• Must be reliable, hardworking and a team player.
• Willingness to learn and maintain high cleanliness standards.
• Commitment to food hygiene and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of meals tailored to residents' dietary needs.
• Support basic cooking and food preparation under supervision.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas.
• Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and safe storage of food.
• Help with washing up and general kitchen duties.
• Support busy meal services to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
• Follow food safety and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Complete required training for development.

Weekend Catering Assistant. Priesty Fields Care Home

• Hourly rate: £12.76 per hour
• Contracted hours: 14 hours per week , Saturday & Sunday only
• Shifts: 9am – 4:30pm

Looking for weekend work and enjoy working in a kitchen environment? Join our catering team and help provide nutritious meals and refreshments for our residents while supporting the smooth running of the kitchen.

What You'll Do

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals tailored to residents' dietary needs.
• Supporting basic cooking and food preparation under the supervision of the Chef.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas.
• Supporting stock rotation, deliveries and the safe storage of food supplies.
• Assisting with washing up and general kitchen duties.
• Helping during busy meal service periods to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
• Following food safety and health & safety procedures at all times.
• Completing any required training to support your development.

About You

• Previous catering, kitchen or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work well as part of a team.
• Positive, proactive and eager to learn.
• Committed to high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
