Job summary

Priesty Fields Care Home is seeking a Part Time Catering Assistant to support a busy kitchen team in delivering delicious, nutritious meals for residents. You’ll help with food preparation, meal service and maintaining high cleanliness and food hygiene standards.

Shifts run 9am–7pm, 28.5 hours per week over 3 days, including every other weekend on a two-week rota. The role offers an hourly rate of £12.76 and flexible pay options through Sandstone Care Group.

Qualifications

• Previous catering or kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
• Organised, dependable and willing to take initiative.
• Understands the importance of food hygiene and high standards.
• Friendly and approachable with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef and wider catering team with food preparation and meal service.
• Assist with basic cooking duties under the guidance of the Chef.
• Prepare dining areas and ensure meals are presented to a high standard.
• Maintain excellent cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
• Assist with stock deliveries, storage and stock rotation procedures.
• Carry out washing up and general kitchen housekeeping duties.
• Follow all food safety, infection control and health & safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient catering service.
