Job summary

Cygnet Healthcare is seeking a Weekend Cook to support residents at Cygnet Conifers. The role involves 16 hours weekly across Saturdays and Sundays, preparing nutritious meals and liaising with nursing staff on dietary needs.

You will ensure kitchen cleanliness, assist with supervising kitchen staff when needed, and uphold hygiene standards in line with COSHH regulations. DBS check required; experience in care settings preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef, ideally in care settings.
• Basic food hygiene certificate required.
• Strong communication with staff and residents.
• Ability to work weekends and independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve nutritionally balanced meals.
• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet dietary needs.
• Ensure kitchen and dining areas are clean and well-maintained.
• Supervise kitchen staff when deputising for Head Chef.
• Maintain hygiene and safe handling of chemicals per COSHH.
