Matchtech is seeking a Weapon System Electrical Integration Architect in Bristol, offering hybrid working. The role focuses on acting as the technical authority for electrical interfaces within a complex weapon system, coordinating with suppliers and internal engineering teams to meet system-level requirements and delivery milestones.

The candidate will translate system-level requirements into clear technical expectations, oversee verification and acceptance activities, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of systems engineering and complex system integration.
• Experience defining and managing system or equipment-level requirements.
• Background in electrical integration, power distribution, or related engineering disciplines.
• Experience managing technical work packages or engaging with external suppliers.
• Knowledge of verification, validation, and certification processes.
• Experience producing technical documentation in controlled environments.
• Practical understanding of electrical systems, interfaces, wiring, and power architectures.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical interface between the weapon system and equipment suppliers.
• Ensure electrical compatibility and integrity across subsystems and the overall system architecture.
• Support system integration, verification, validation, and acceptance activities.
• Define, manage, and develop electrical requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Own and manage supplier Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Lead technical reviews, design reviews, and supplier progress meetings.
• Monitor delivery against cost, schedule, performance, and quality objectives.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams including systems, software, mechanical and power engineering functions.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks and issues.
• Support decisions regarding equipment reuse, modification, or new design implementation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, regulations, and certification requirements.

The Opportunity

As the Electrical Integration Architect, you will act as the technical authority for electrical interfaces between the weapon system and associated equipment. You will ensure electrical design intent, performance requirements, and integration constraints are aligned across the wider system architecture. Working closely with internal engineering teams and external equipment suppliers, you will translate system-level requirements into clear technical expectations, supporting successful delivery, integration, verification, and acceptance activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

• Experience managing technical work packages or engaging with external suppliers

• Practical understanding of electrical systems, interfaces, wiring, and power architectures

Experience within highly regulated industries such as defence, aerospace, maritime, transportation, energy, or other complex engineering sectors would be advantageous.
