Job summary

Canal & River Trust is seeking an Engagement Coordinator for a 5-month, part-time temporary opportunity to connect people with their waterways through volunteering, environmental projects, health and wellbeing initiatives, and community engagement.

The role is home-based with a local hub at the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port or Rose Grove, Burnley, with regular travel across the Northwest region to project areas including Rochdale, Wigan and Ellesmere Port.

Qualifications

• Experience in community engagement and volunteering environments.
• Experience delivering community and volunteering projects.
• Experience in youth engagement.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Budget management experience and ability to influence across departments.

Responsibilities

• Direct delivery of activities for children, young people and community groups near the canal.
• Recruit, train and support volunteers including youths.
• Deliver and manage place-based projects and programmes.
• Develop activities with underrepresented groups to improve wellbeing and engagement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to establish partnerships and secure opportunities.
• Prepare progress and financial reports for monitoring and evaluation.
