Canal & River Trust is seeking a Licensing Ranger to support boat licensing compliance, signpost customers, and progress enforcement cases across the Grand Union Canal area. The role is outdoors and involves walking or cycling, with travel between Watford and Brentford.

A driving licence and comfort with fieldwork are essential. Based from Little Venice or Leighton Buzzard, the role requires working 22.5 hours per week over three days, with the potential for occasional travel to sites and

Qualificações

• Experience interacting with customers in challenging situations.
• Experience working outdoors, often alone, in varying weather.
• Awareness of safeguarding risks and welfare indicators when dealing with customers.
• Ability to work on own initiative with attention to detail to deliver results.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Acts, Bye-Laws and licensing terms affecting Canal & River Trust.

Responsabilidades

• Capture boat sightings in a defined geographic area using an iPad/tablet app.
• Attach notices/letters to boats and complete supporting documents.
• Provide basic customer service and signpost to Trust teams.
• Work with case management and welfare teams to progress cases.
• Identify welfare indicators and escalate concerns to relevant teams.
• Support boat removals by ensuring towpath closures or other required actions.
• Hold a valid driving licence; some roles may involve boat sightings from workboats.
• Follow Trust values and maintain GDPR, FOI, Equality Act 2010 awareness.
