Job summary

Babcock International Group in Helensburgh is seeking a Waterfront Multi Skilled Operative – Mobile Crane Operator to support critical heavy-lift tasks at HMNB Clyde on site.

You will operate and maintain mobile cranes, contribute to berthing and lifting operations, and help meet KPIs with strict safety standards. A HGV1 licence and CPCS card are preferred. This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive package.

Responsibilities

• Operating and maintaining mobile cranes in line with lift plans and safety regulations.

• Supporting vessel berthing and slipping evolutions, including heavy‑lift tasks.
• Assisting with planned maintenance and defect rectification to meet KPIs.
• Performing monthly maintenance routines on mobile cranes.

The role

As a Mobile Crane Operator, you’ll be at the heart of critical heavy-lift operations that support national defence. This is a hands‑on role where precision and safety are paramount. You’ll contribute to projects that keep our naval assets operational, making a real difference to the UK’s security and infrastructure. Day‑to‑day, you’ll be required to:

• Operating and maintaining mobile cranes in line with approved lift plans and safety regulations.
• Setting up, operating, and de‑rigging cranes according to SOPs and safety protocols.
