Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Cardiff is seeking a Civil Engineer with a passion for water and wastewater infrastructure. You will contribute to surface water drainage and wastewater projects, preparing reports and drawings while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to drive sustainable solutions.

The role supports the environmental and resilience aims across UK networks, with opportunities to leverage digital tools and data for innovative delivery and efficiency in the water sector.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Working towards Chartership with ICE or CIWEM within 2 years.
• Experience in design delivery and multidisciplinary design.
• Familiarity with UK design standards and practices.
• Experience with digital analysis tools (MicroDrainage, InfoWorks, Civil 3D, MapInfo).
• Understanding of UK water industry, environment and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to wastewater and surface water management projects and prepare technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and industry leaders to reduce CSO spills and support wider business areas.
• Shape holistic water management strategies focusing on sustainability, resilience and community protection.
• Utilize digital tools to drive innovation and efficiency across water and infrastructure sectors.
