Job summary

City of Austin, through its Austin Water department, seeks an Operations & Maintenance Technician Associate to support water treatment processes and plant maintenance. You will assist with process control, testing, and routine rounds, while maintaining records and supporting safety requirements.

The role emphasizes learning both operations and maintenance with licensing targets within one year, on a 40-hour workweek, in Austin, Texas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of related experience
• 30 semester hours may substitute for 1 year of experience
• Able to obtain TCEQ water operator licenses within 1 year of employment
• Experience with CMMS for work orders is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic process control tasks such as sampling and testing
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and basic repairs
• Monitor SCADA data and record results
• Maintain operation and maintenance records
• Participate in Confined Space Entry Team
