Job summary

San Benito PD is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator to monitor and operate treatment equipment around the clock, ensuring safe potable and industrial water supply. You will adjust chemical dosages, log process data, and respond to process fluctuations under supervision of the Lead Operator.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, a Texas driver’s license, and eventual TCEQ licensure. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work varied shifts in a 24/7 facility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to write routine reports and basic math operations.
• Ability to follow written or spoken instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operates water treatment plant equipment to purify and clarify water.
• Performs routine lab analyses (turbidity, pH, hardness, chlorine) and records data.
• Maintains system pressure and storage tanks; collects samples for state lab.
• Keeps chemical inventory and orders supplies; adheres to safety standards.
