Job summary

Mitie, part of Marlowe Environmental Services, is recruiting a Water Technician in Birmingham to operate, maintain and monitor water treatments for customers, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role includes completing allocated jobs on time, documenting activities in real time, and performing tasks such as cooling tower cleaning, temperature monitoring, and sampling domestic systems. A UK driving licence is required; enhanced DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Undertake all tasks of a level 1 technician.
• TMV valve servicing (both failsafe and full strip‑down).
• Sampling of domestic systems and accurate submission to the laboratory.
• Excellent time‑keeping, demonstrate sound work ethics, and be respectful with cultural awareness.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Complete allocated jobs within the agreed timescales.
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately and submit on the electronic system in live time.
• Must not exceed more than 2 audit failures per year.
• Cleaning of cooling towers and tanks (2nd man), tank inspections, and flushing of little‑used outlets.
• Temperature monitoring, sampling of domestic systems, and descaling and cleaning of showers and shower heads.
