Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in London seeks a Water Technician to maintain and monitor water systems across commercial properties. You will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance, and respond to water-related issues to minimize disruption.

The role requires a City & Guilds qualification in plumbing or water systems, Legionella awareness training (L8), at least 3 years of experience, and a valid UK driving

Qualifications

• Legionella awareness training (BOHS P901 or equivalent) with understanding of ACoP L8 requirements.
• Minimum 3 years experience in commercial water system maintenance.
• Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel across London portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of water systems (hot/cold water, cooling towers, domestic supplies).
• Perform risk assessments for Legionella prevention and implement control measures per L8 guidelines and HSG274.
• Monitor water quality with regular sampling and maintain records for compliance.
• Execute planned preventive maintenance for pumps, valves, storage tanks and distribution systems.
• Respond to emergency callouts for water system failures or leaks and implement temporary solutions.
• Coordinate with contractors for major repairs or upgrades as required.
• Ensure compliance with Water Supply Regulations and Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Maintain logbooks, test certificates and inspection reports; prepare monthly compliance reports.

Water Technician - JLL Work Place Management (London)

Position Overview: JLL Work Place Management seeks a skilled Water Technician to join our facilities management team in London. This role involves maintaining, monitoring, and managing water systems across commercial properties to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of water systems including hot and cold water services, cooling towers, and domestic water supplies.
• Perform risk assessments for Legionella prevention and implement control measures in accordance with L8 guidelines and HSG274 standards.
• Monitor water quality through regular sampling and testing, maintaining detailed records for compliance purposes.
• Execute planned preventive maintenance schedules for pumps, valves, storage tanks, and distribution systems.
• Respond to emergency callouts for water system failures or leaks, performing repairs and temporary solutions to minimize disruption.
• Coordinate with contractors for major repairs or system upgrades when required.
• Ensure all water systems comply with relevant legislation including the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations and Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Maintain accurate logbooks, test certificates, and inspection reports.
• Prepare monthly compliance reports for clients and support audit activities.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to building managers and tenants regarding water system operations.
• Respond to water-related queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Support client meetings with technical recommendations and system performance updates.

Essential Requirements

• City & Guilds qualification in plumbing or water systems management, or equivalent experience.
• Legionella awareness training (BOHS P901 or equivalent) with understanding of ACoP L8 requirements.
• Minimum 3 years experience in commercial water system maintenance.
• Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel across London portfolio.

Preferred Qualifications

• Water treatment certification, IOSH Working Safely qualification, and experience with building management systems integration.
• Previous facilities management or corporate real estate experience advantageous.
