Job summary

Randstad Construction and Property is seeking an Estimator for civil engineering in the water sector based in Manchester. You will join an established tendering team, developing comprehensive commercial builds and supporting end-to-end work-winning capability.

Key responsibilities include taking off BoQs, preparing first-principle estimates, and collaborating with Bid Managers, procurement, and project teams to ensure robust pricing and successful bids.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering estimating experience in water infrastructure
• Strong understanding of construction techniques and site production rates
• Proficient in tender build-ups from first principles and estimation software
• Advanced skills across the Microsoft Office suite
• Numerate with ability to liaise with directors, project teams and clients

Responsibilities

• Estimate Preparation & Tendering: interpret tender requirements, take-offs and BoQ reviews, prepare first-principle estimates, collate supporting docs, align methodologies with teams
• Adjudication & Commercial Review: prepare packs, present basis of estimate, document adjudication notes, support client negotiations
• Site Handover & Ongoing Support: prepare handover packs, brief project delivery teams, provide ongoing commercial guidance to sites
