Job summary

Nijhuis Saur Industries UK & Ireland is seeking a field sampling technician to support wastewater and environmental sampling across projects in the UK. You will visit sites, plan daily routes, and ensure samples are collected in line with QA/QC processes while maintaining health and safety standards.

This role requires a full UK driving licence and strong communication skills. You will work with a collaborative team, develop professionally, and contribute to delivering accurate sampling data

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Visit wastewater sites and sampling locations as per schedule.
• Plan daily sampling runs to be cost-effective and timely.
• Follow sampling procedures with QA/QC requirements.
• Complete paperwork including sample sheets and calibration records.
• Install and download temperature loggers and monitor temperature ranges.
• Ensure compliance with H&S and company procedures.
• Transport samples to laboratories per procedures.
• Maintain sampling equipment and portable instruments.
• Carry out routine calibration checks on instruments.
• Assist in other field activities as required.

Summary

Nijhuis Saur Industries are one of the UKs leading Water Hygiene/Treatment Companies. We provide cooling tower engineering and environmental solutions across the UK.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Visit wastewater treatment sites and other sampling locations to take samples in accordance with the sampling schedule as determined by the Project Manager.
• Plan daily sampling runs so that samples are taken in a cost effective and timely manner.
• Ensure samples are taken in accordance with Company, South West Water and Environment Agency sampling procedures.
• Complete appropriate paperwork in accordance with Company procedures including sample sheets, calibration records and other site records as required.
• Install and download temperature loggers as required and ensure that temperatures have remained within the required temperature range.
• Ensure sample programmes are carried out in accordance with company Quality, Environmental and H&S procedures.
• Transport samples to Laboratories as necessary and in accordance with set procedures.
• Clean and maintain all sampling equipment and portable instruments as required.
• Carry out routine calibration checks on portable instruments in accordance with Company procedures.
• Assist in other field operational activities as necessary.
