Job summary

Severn Trent is seeking a Laboratory Scientist to undertake microbiological analysis of drinking water and related samples from water treatment works, service reservoirs, customer taps and catchment surveys, delivering regulatory commitments to the Drinking Water Inspectorate.

You will report results using the Laboratory LIMS, ensure testing is completed to ISO17025 and regulatory standards, and interpret data while identifying atypical results and contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months lab experience.
• 5 GCSEs or equivalent and a higher scientific qualification or professional membership.
• Analytical and methodical mindset with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Undertake microbiological analysis of drinking water and related samples.
• Interpret data and report analytical results in accordance with QMS and ISO17025.
• Identify atypical results, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
