Job summary

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland is seeking a proactive Workshop Technician to join the Water Quality team in Leeds. You will service, calibrate and test water quality monitoring equipment, ensuring sensors are ready for critical field operations.

You’ll work independently and with the team, maintain battery and stock control, follow safety procedures, and be flexible to travel as needed. A full UK driving license is essential and IT systems knowledge will help you track assets and deployments.

Qualifications

• Proven practical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Interest in water quality instrumentation and calibration procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork, proactive and deadline-oriented.
• Confidence using IT systems; full UK driving license and willingness to travel overnight.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, repairing, testing, calibrating and maintaining water quality equipment.
• Preparing, cleaning and deploying water quality instrumentation for field use.
• Managing equipment availability through battery maintenance, stock control and asset tracking.
• Supporting safe operations by following health and safety procedures and project needs.
