Job summary

Murray McIntosh Associates Ltd in Bury, Greater Manchester, is seeking a Mechanical Designer / Mechanical Design Engineer for a long-term rolling contract. You will deliver designs, drawings and calculations for pumps, pipework, tanks and process plant within water and wastewater projects, on a hybrid pattern with three days in the office.

Qualifications

• 2D AutoCAD experience is essential.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with pumps, pipework, valves, tanks or process plant.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical engineering designs, drawings and calculations for pumps, pipework, valves, tanks and process plant.
• Develop mechanical design requirements from client remits.
• Produce and develop P&IDs, GA drawings and equipment schedules.
• Interpret process flow information and equipment specifications.
• Develop practical engineering solutions that meet project requirements.
• Develop and maintain engineering and design standards.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, project and other design disciplines.
• Attend project sites when required.
