Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Water Operations Analyst to support the safe operation of the South London clean water network. You will work with Systems Optimisation Engineers, Leakage teams and other colleagues to maintain reliable water supplies, manage pressure and respond to network issues.

Fixed-term contract for up to 1 year. The role emphasises data-driven problem solving, strong analytical skills and stakeholder communication, with some travel across the Thames Water area and a driving

  • Making sure network activities follow the correct operational and risk-management procedures.

Job description

We're looking for a Water Operations Analyst to join our team, supporting the safe and effective operation of our clean water network across South London. You'll work closely with Systems Optimisation Engineers, Leakage teams and other colleagues across the business, helping us maintain reliable water supplies, manage pressure and respond effectively when unexpected network issues arise. Please note this is a fixed term contract for up to 1 year.

What you'll be doing as a Water Operations Analyst
  • Investigating pressure issues, customer complaints and network alarms, using data to understand problems and identify solutions.
  • Supporting planned network isolations and optimisation projects.
  • Assisting during unplanned and emergency events to minimise disruption to customers.
  • Helping investigate longer-term network issues, including low pressure, low flows, resilience and network integrity.
  • Making sure network activities follow the correct operational and risk-management procedures.
  • A degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or science would be advantageous, or equivalent practical experience
  • An interest in hydraulic systems, water networks and clean water operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational and performance data
  • Good communication skills and confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • A proactive approach and genuine willingness to learn and develop a long-term career in the water industry
  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport would be helpful (but not essential) as some travel across the Thames Water area required for this role
