Job summary

Veriflo Limited is seeking a Water Network Technician to lead critical network activities, protect water quality and deliver safe, efficient operations across the London distribution network.

You will independently plan, coordinate and execute a wide range of field tasks, oversee contractor work, and mentor junior staff. This full-time role offers day or night shifts with a competitive compensation package and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• Satisfactory Basic DBS.
• First Aid Qualification.
• EUSR National Water Hygiene.
• NRSWA Streetworks qualification.
• Proven experience within water network operations.
• Experience of mains isolation activities.
• Good understanding of water quality principles.
• Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret network plans and GIS information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commitment to health, safety and compliance.
• Leakage detection experience.
• Experience coaching or mentoring operational colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver a wide range of operational activities across the water distribution network.
• Undertake complex distribution main isolations, trunk main and transmission main isolations with no supply interruptions.
• Conduct asset proving and operability checks; mains tracing and asset identification.
• Lead network investigations, diagnostics and directional flushing programmes.
• Carry out water quality activities, sample collection and incident response.
• Deploy loggers and interpret collected data.
• Assess customer impact and conduct complex investigations.
• Supervise contractors and provide assurance.
• Maintain client relationships and provide escalation support.
• Coach and mentor Operatives and Academy learners.
