Job summary

Veriflo is hiring a Water Network Technician to plan and execute operational activities across the water distribution network, ensuring safety and quality compliance. You will deliver complex isolation work, conduct diagnostics and support customer-focused outcomes.

The role requires experience in water networks, strong stakeholder skills and the ability to mentor field staff, with opportunities to develop through a competency-based framework.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Satisfactory Basic DBS.
• First Aid Qualification.
• EUSR National Water Hygiene.
• NRSWA Streetworks qualification.
• Proven experience within water network operations.
• Experience of mains isolation activities.
• Good understanding of water quality principles.
• Experience using network monitoring and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret network plans and GIS information.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commitment to health, safety and compliance.
• Leakage detection experience.
• Experience coaching or mentoring operational colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and deliver a wide range of operational activities across the water distribution network.
• Coordinate complex distribution main isolations and trunk/ transmission mains isolations without supply interruption.
• Asset proving and operability checks.
• Mains tracing and asset identification.
• Network investigations and diagnostics.
• Directional flushing programmes.
• Water quality activities: sampling, risk mitigation & incident response.
• Logger deployment and data interpretation.
• Customer impact assessments & investigations.
• Contractor supervision and assurance.
• Maintain client relationships & incident response.
• Coach and mentor Operatives and Academy learners.
