Job summary

Thames Water is hiring a Project Support Technician to help deliver clean water across London and support capital projects in the city. The role is based at Walton-on-Thames with a 38-hour week, standby and overtime opportunities, and a required full UK driving licence.

You will investigate the water network, communicate with stakeholders, provide technical advice, and support project delivery while working flexibly across weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong external customer service ethic with a track record of delivering improvements for customers.
• Ability to communicate clearly with a range of people and stakeholder departments.
• Experience in coordinating projects or work with a collaborative approach.
• Understanding of domestic plumbing, water mains and leakage detection.
• A water industry qualification in operating water networks, or an equivalent qualification.
• Able to work autonomously as well as in a team.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Investigate the clean water network to resolve asset performance issues such as high/low pressure, leakage, metering queries, and loss of supply.
• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure efficient completion of projects and maintenance programmes.
• Provide specialist technical advice to support first-time completion of planned works.
• Attend performance meetings to provide updates and highlight delivery risks.
• Support the implementation of new technical systems and processes to improve team efficiency.
• Develop scope of work packs and understand asset care plans and asset criticality.
• Engage with Health & Safety initiatives and promote best practices.
