Job summary

Thames Water is looking for a System Optimisation Analyst to join the team at Reading, with hybrid working and base location Kemble Court. You will investigate water pressure issues, monitor network performance and support engineers on improvement projects to keep our water network reliable for millions of customers.

You will work with engineers and operators, analysing data, managing District Metered Areas and helping coordinate responses to incidents.

Qualifications

• An awareness of hydraulic principles and transferable skills relevant to the water industry.
• The ability to communicate clearly and work confidently with different teams and stakeholders.
• An organised and practical approach to managing priorities and solving problems.
• Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping software.
• Familiarity with data handling and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Investigate water pressure issues, customer complaints and network alerts, helping to find practical solutions.
• Monitor network performance and analyse data to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
• Manage District Metered Area and District Meter availability, supporting action plans to meet performance targets.
• Support engineers with network improvement projects, maintenance activities and planned works.
• Help coordinate responses to unexpected network incidents, minimising disruption to customers and protecting water quality.
• Support risk assessments for activities affecting the clean water network.
