Job summary

SOCOTEC UK & Ireland is seeking a proactive Scheduler to join the Water Quality team in Leeds, coordinating field-based monitoring and sampling activities.

You will be responsible for planning, scheduling and route optimisation, ensuring access, permits and documentation are in place and that fieldwork runs on time and within budget. Excellent organisation and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and planning skills with a methodical approach to multiple activities and deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Good IT skills, particularly in Excel and Access, with experience using databases or scheduling systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
• Logical, proactive problem-solving and ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule water quality monitoring and sampling activities across client projects.
• Create work packages, daily schedules and efficient routes for field teams.
• Prepare maps, site information, trackers and field documentation for field teams.
• Coordinate site access, permissions, traffic management and permits before fieldwork.
• Liaise with field teams to share schedules and site requirements; manage changes.
