Job summary

Eurofins Scientific is seeking a part-time Laboratory Technician in Grimsby to support routine preparation and analysis of water samples. Full training will be provided; no prior experience is required.

The role involves maintaining records, following SOPs, handling consumables, and ensuring sample integrity under health and safety guidelines. Hours are 30 per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–14:00, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Maths, English and Science at GCSE grade C or above or equivalent.
• Experience in a fast paced working environment.
• Awareness of good laboratory practices.
• Enthusiasm, energy and a driven outlook.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and analysis of water samples using good laboratory practice.
• Preparing and dispensing consumables.
• Undergo training and follow laboratory SOPs and Safe Systems of Work.
• Ensure samples received are handled with temperature control and maintain sample integrity.
• Maintenance of accurate and systematic records as per quality procedures.
• Perform calibrations, daily checks and other quality related tasks.
• Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
• Report any anomalies or concerns to direct report.
• Comply with Health and Safety procedures ensuring a tidy work environment.
• Maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment as directed.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is worn as per policy.
